Feedback from a member of the patient participation group who attended for their vaccination:
To the Manager
I have just had my coronavirus vaccination this morning at Rustons, North Hykeham. All set up by my GP surgery, Birchwood Medical Practice. I just want to say a big thank you for all the staff working. It was well organised and very well run. No waiting straight in to have the jab and just had to sit for 15 minutes before leaving.Excellent service NHS. Was advised I would get the second vaccination by a getting a telephone call or text message.
I would tell patients please don't miss your appointment when you get it as it is for your safety and others.
Thank you again to all staff for the excellent work you are doing
Take care Keep safe
Mrs A Godfrey (PPG member)

Nursing Homes Alignment
Care Homes provide an important role in supporting our local people to live better in communities. The NHS has a vision of enhanced care and support to Care Homes as part of bringing the Care Home sector into the wider NHS family. As part of this service GP surgeries are being aligned with specific Care Homes to promote consistent good relationships between GP Practices and Care Homes. It is the aim of the service to improve the quality of care for patients who reside in Care Homes.
Birchwood Medical Practice is aligned to the following Care Homes:

The Orders of St John Care Trust - Hartsholme House LN6 0EA
Talk Before You Walk
Practices are still open and we encourage people to get in touch for any health concerns that cannot be dealt with by the individual, their family or friends, or the local pharmacy
Routine vaccinations and immunisations are important and are available at the practice.
Please only visit the surgery in person if you have an appointment
If you think you need to see a doctor, nurse, or other health professional please call the practice to speak to a clinician or use the messages options on the website or on-line services.
Make prescription requests using the prescription answerphone 01522 501111 or via on-line services.
If you need to be seen face-to-face then you will be given an appointment to come to the practice and this will be provided in a Covid-safe way
These changes are happening to help keep staff and patients safe
We want to discourage people queuing outside a GP practice and waiting in the waiting area, to reduce the spread of coronavirus
If you have coronavirus symptoms DO NOT come into the practice– self isolate and seek help via NHS 111 or 111.nhs.uk

We would like to give a big clap and lots of thanks to our wonderful PPG (Patient Participation Group) member, Ann Godfrey, has been very busy since March sewing scrub bags and masks to provide free to NHS organisations and at a small charge through facebook. She has given made a large donation from those payments to be used by the Patient Participation Group (PPG) to benefit our patients.
